Founder

Boti Manuel Kimbuila

Founder & Executive Director

Boti Manuel Kimbuila is a Canadian-Swedish researcher, sustainability scholar, and public-sector professional working at the intersection of governance, policy analysis, sustainability science, and humanitarian strategy.

He holds a foundational background in Public and Private Law and two Master's degrees from the University of Gävle in Sweden; one in Decision, Risk and Policy Analysis, and another in Sustainability Science and Decision Making. His research addresses strategic decision-making under uncertainty, sustainability governance, and social-impact systems. He has authored two notable publications: a critical analysis of international human rights measurement tools, and a study on the social sustainability and human rights dimensions of cobalt extraction in Africa within lithium-ion battery supply chains.

Professionally, he has contributed to Swedish and Canadian public services, the private sector, and regulatory environments across information management, governance support, and strategic communications. His dual Canadian-Swedish background and international training give him a distinctly cross-cultural lens, which he applies to sustainability transitions, and equitable global development.

Convinced that social suffering must be made visible and measurable, he has championed treating loneliness not as a personal emotion but as a quantifiable global condition with significant public-health implications. Drawing on his expertise in decision analysis and policy research, he advocates for evidence-based approaches that translate compassion into systematic action. This conviction led him to develop the Impact Measurement System (IMS) and the Global Loneliness Index (GLI), tools designed to measure loneliness with scientific rigor as a prerequisite for reducing it.
